John GAY may have been the John baptised 11 Feb 1738/39, Ingworth, Norfolk, the son of Thomas and Ann.

John may just as likely have been the son of John and Hannah baptised 22 Apr 1734, Burgh next Aylsham, Norfolk - however, there is a John buried 13 Aug 1734, and I am unable to establish if this is father or son¹⁾.

Either way, it does, however, appear that both Thomas and John were brothers, both being sons of John and Elizabeth (nee Bell) who were married in Oulton, 25 Apr 1695.


John was buried 27 Oct 1812, Ingworth, Norfolk, aged 76 [c.1736].

He married Elizabeth NORTON 21 Dec 1764, Ingworth, Norfolk.
